1. What is IELTS?

IELTS is the world’s well known English language proficiency test for global migration and higher education.

2. Why is IELTS important?

There are around 10,000 organisations globally trust IELTS, so it is recognised by almost all educational institutions, employers, governments and professional bodies around the world. As the establishment of four skills of English language testing system, IELTS still sets the standard for English language testing today. Governments of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and other developed countries use IELTS to process immigration applications.

3. Choosing the right exam.

There are mainly two types of IELTS exams available – IELTS General Training, IELTS Academic and UKVI. The test you choose should be based on what is your purpose of doing it.

IELTS Academic - it measures whether your level of english language proficiency is suitable for an academic environment or not. It evaluates all aspects of academic language whether you’re ready to begin training or studying.

IELTS General Training - it measures English language proficiency in everyday or a practical context. The tasks and tests reflect both social situations and workplace.

UK Visas and Immigration - If you are taking the IELTS test to support a UK visa application to work, live in UK Visas and Immigration the UK, you may need to take the IELTS for (UKVI) General Training or Academic or the IELTS for Life Skills test.

4. How does IELTS work?

IELTS test is developed by the world’s leading language assessment experts and it will test the range of English skills needed for success in your new study or work placement abroad.

You will be assessed on the following four elements:

Listening
Reading
Writing
Speaking

5. Your IELTS test report / TRF.

You will receive your IELTS results via SMS 13 days after your test date. You can also view it online on IELTS website. It might get delayed in case of national holiday.

If you have taken a computer-delivered IELTS test, your results will be available between 5-7 days after your test.

You will receive the TRF at the registered address within a week after it is declared online.
