  • India is agricultural country and millions of species of trees and plants are available in my country.
  • But here I would like to talk about the most important plant that is known to everyone and is highly significant. 
  • The plant is none other than a Holy Indian Basil which is also called "Tulsi".
  • The Tulsi plant is regarded as the holiest among all the plants in India.
  • It is specially sacred in the worship of god Vishnu, Krishna and other related Vaishnava deities.
  • This green leafy plant is also known as Ocimum tenuiflorum and Ocimum sanctum L.
  • Tulsi plant is one of the most common plants found in India
  • It is easily found in each and every home of Hindu people. 
  • Mostly people grow it in front of their main door or if people are living in appartment, they grow it in pots in their balconies. 
  • It can be also found in farms for production purposes.
  • Tulsi is a small green plant and their leaves are small and bright green in colour. It can easily grow in small pots. 
  • I like this plant because it has a lot of benefits.
  • Indian holy Basil leaves are also used to make herbal tea which is popular among many people. 


  • Tulsi is used for various purposes.
  • It has high nutritional values, as it contains: vitamin A and C, calcium, chlorophyll, zinc iron.
  • Tulsi enhanced metabolism and lower the stress levels.
  • It helps to cure a cough, cold as well as fever. So, I believe that, this is very useful plant for all for its medicinal qualities .
  • Consuming Tulsi leaf can control your blood sugar level.
  • It can heal many skin disorders like acne, blackheads and premature ageing.
