IELTS Speaking Test Part 1 takes about 4-5 minutes and you will be asked questions about familiar topics only.

Trying to memorise answers for the IELTS  speaking test is a very bad idea, but you can learn answering questions by practising them daily.

There are certain question types, such as likes-dislikes, giving opinion, talking about past and future, comparing and contrasting, explaining and evaluating someone else's opinion that come up very regularly in the IELTS Speaking Test. 

Here are the list of topics and questions for IELTS Speaking Test Part 1.

1. Family :
  • Do you like to live in a joint family or a nuclear family?
  • Can you tell me something about them?
  • How much time do you manage to spare with your family members? 
  • What types of activities do you like to do together with your family?
2. Accommodation :

Note :
  • Don't give one or two word answers. Give at least one or two sentences answers. This is your chance to show your English to the examiner and holding back is not going to help you score your desired bands so be confident, relax and enjoy speaking in English.
