IELTS Writing Test - Task 1

Academic Report writing.

This information will help you to write better report writing for your IELTS Academic Task 1. In this task, candidates asked to describe some information presented in a visual format. It is highly suggested to spend only 20 minutes on it and must write at least 150 words. This task will worth 33% of the test.
You will get marks based on:
1. Task achievement - 25%
2. Grammar - 25%
3. Vocabulary - 25%
4. Coherence and cohesive - 25%

STRUCTURE OF GRAPH

1. Opening paragraph
(2-3 sentences)
Explain what you are going to describe.

2. Body paragraph
(2-3 paragraphs depending on the question).
(2-2 sentences in each paragraphs)
Explain the most important part of graph first and then other changes or comparisons).

3. Closing paragraph
(2-3 sentences)
This should be sum up of the overall graph.

➤ The first sentence of the body paragraph should begin with:

➤ Begin the Closing paragraph with:

Finally, it can be observed that...

In the closing, we can say that...

All in all, it is clearly seen that...

Note:

Do not copy the given task for opening paragraph, you will not get any marks for it.
Do not use the same sentence structure or style. It is important to write variety of sentence types.
Avoid repetition of the words while answering the graphs.
Use synonyms of the words that you have used before in your answer.
Use connectors and linking words.

Follow these strategies and you will reach a step closer to the band score you dreamed for.
